Mel Fisher’s Treasures was recently contacted by USA Today in regards to a story featuring family run businesses. After preliminary phone interviews a reporter came to the keys to spend two days in mid-November learning more about how the company is run and what exactly we do. She learned about our unique investment program where individuals can actually live out their dreams and become treasure hunters on the most famous shipwreck in history. In addition they receive an actual division of treasure at the end of the year where they are provided with their percentage of the treasure found during that calendar year.
As most people are, the reporter was incredibly fascinated and thoroughly enjoyed her trip to the Atocha wreck site where we visited both the Dare and the Magruder. Three investors were out at sea that day scuba diving on the Magruder and one was lucky enough to find a silver coin!
The USA Today reporter was so enamored with the history of the company and our current mission of finding the Sterncastle of the Atocha that she is hoping to make our segment longer than it was originally slotted for.
The story is currently set to run in the December 1 issue of USA Today. It is what is known as an “ever green” story which means it can run at any time and still be relevant. Therefore if something unforeseen happens in the business world or stock market it may run a day or two later. Keep an eye out in the Business Money section of the USA Today Newspaper during the first week of December. r>
